'Taking a Dip!' by OsiJrThis is a screenshot from the latest build on Xbox 360. The post-processed levels are slowly taking shape. Won't be long now and it'll be almost as pretty as the prototype!

Hi everyone I have finally put my timetable up
Image by OsiJr at 10:12am on Monday, the 6th of June, 2011.
'Modified Demo Level' by OsiJrThe original demo level was declared too complicated for new players (we thought it was allowed to be mid-game to end-game complexity, evidently not) so we've made some modifications to simplify it. The first (obvious change) is the seperation of the various abilities. Instead of being a massive puzzle where different elements must be solved in a sequencial order we've split it up so that the elements are now individual puzzles that can be solved quickly so you can move on.
I need to quickly implement heat transfer and we're set :D (Yay!), still a bit to go but fingers crossed can get it done in time to pitch.
Keep them crossed that we get greenlit too!

Last week I managed to turn a week with no shifts rostered into having 3 shifts all at least 5hrs =D so BOOYA!! Working on saving as much of that money as I can.
I made it into Sunnybank SHS a couple of times last week got a fair amount of work done with the IT guy and got to play physics teacher too =P which was fun. One kid called me sir and in the one moment I felt suddenly old... so I went to the gym first time in about 2 or 3 months and found that I hadn’t lost any strength =D could still bench 60kg which is awesome
I am still waiting on my Ipad to come in it has been over a month since I ordered it now and am getting rather annoyed. I have to call jb and get an explanation today.
On a lighter note I cleared the junk out of my room half filling the wheelie bin in the process which I think is a good effort.
As you can see my life is really boring atm
Anyway thats it for me this week see you next time

'New Lighting System' by OsiJrI spent the last little while fixing some display issues Abzorb had. Lights are now applied properly to all objects in the scene and the background parallax scrolled image is properly positioned and sized. I'll probably turn its lights off at some point so that it looks a bit further off, but for right now it looks pretty good.
We aren't actually allowed to clean it up <too> much as this is only a prototype. I still think it looks cool.

Sorry for lack of visiting lately (not that many of you did in any case). My laptop has PMS and doesn't work like its supposed to, so I'm at uni on a saturday solving bugs and implementing features that Sam should be helping with. But he's MIA today and technically speaking I should be working on AI but I felt like working on Abzorb so I am.
Lack of laptop means that SVN is down for a bit while I look at options, fortunately uni has given us one for some thigns, so I'll use that for a bit until I get a new computer (or figure out how to fix mine so its stable just a little bit longer).
Anyway, I'll post a picture from Abzorb atm and then continue working :)
Have Fun, Paul Out.

Hey it’s Monday again
My court case is FINALLY over just the sentencing left which I am going to today. Before you ask I was only a reserve jury because our case was a long one (started on the 21st of February) we had three and we were discharged when the rest of the jury went into verdict.
Now that, that is over I can get back into LoL and my other games, I just got F.E.A.R.2, Far Cry 2, and Gears of War. So looking forward to that, the last couple of months have been rather busy with jury and still working at KFC =( oh and I can get back into LOR =D which is awesome.
Just a note about KFC I had and 11am-10pm shift (yeah I know WTF(and they called me into work 5-10 the night before)) and that’s not the bad bit the bad bit is that because of May Fest at Macgregor primary school all the parks were taken in our parking lot so I went looking for a park in the rest of the shopping centre’s car park and ended up having to park at the other end of the complex and also because of the May Fest (and mother’s day the next day) it was a busy as all fuck. At one point they had fireworks going and I was up in drive thru, I had to ask the customer to wait till the fireworks died down so that I could hear their order.
Oh and god knows I need I proper icon and I shall be working on that too while I have the time... though hopefully KFC will give me heaps of shifts or better yet will find a decent job (i.e. not oil related)
Well that’s it for another week... enjoy the week and I will see you next Monday

'Abzorb: Demo Level' by OsiJrThis level isn't a part of the final game but is instead a useful level to demo and test new features.
The goal of this level is simple, get from Cottage A (forest floor) to Cottage B (top of cliffs). I don't know why you want to go there, maybe you need to take Grandma some cookies or something.
There is many different ways to go about this, as the level (and game) evolves there will likely be more ways to get there.
The elevator has been removed, its a pile of burnable leaves instead now :)

I like how you posted 5mins after you were emailed. Shame no one else has done that yet (email reminder system has been fixed since Thursday).
I think you can say what you've been doing, just can't give any details about the specific position you're undertaking.
Mischief Mages is indeed coming along nicely. :)

Some changes to the site in the coming days or maybe already implemented. I noticed that there were headers around the place that didn't properly suit the style, they have since been adjusted to work much better into the overall style of the site. In addition avatars are a key part of the site and as such will be implemented very soon as well. Forums are also of higher priority and probably porting over the flash games and (very easily) hackable high score tables. So yeah, expect those back soon as well. Expect a dedicated projects section too since its pretty important for us to have that for both university and personal projects.
Happy Easter, Paul Out.

'Mischief Mages: An Adventure In' by OsiJrGot an early shaded scene working now, ignoring the fact that the staff and hat now fly around on strange (Magical?) patterns its kinda working.
BTW: Lights are completely broken at the moment, as can be seen from the ground. lolol. No implementation of the UI from Ryan yet- coming soon? Tonight/tomorrow probably.

'Ganked' by HarkonXAfter killing over 9000 neutral monsters, the golems decided to fight back and ganked nathan whilst he was jungling. LYYY saw how imba the golem gank was left the game immediately.

'PENTAKILL' by HarkonXTAKE SOME OF THESE LOLFUL SKILLS OFF ME!

I've been working on some of the Mischief Mages Lobby art over the last 2 days and will be hitting it hard over the week of holidays. Anyways I will be constantly uploading pictures of my progress so can you post feedback in the comments of this blog or write a whole new blog about suggestions you think would be cool or changes i should make to the existing pictures I've posted.
hey could the mage in the menu resemble your mage as you kit them out =P
I like that idea but its probably a huge undertaking. I highly doubt with just one artist Ryan will even get the time to do a handful of the options at that quality (and in game renders would be pretty dodgy)
hmmm if i ever get the time to do that then hells yeah im all for it.

'Spell Selection Progress Update' by HarkonXadded some more stuff, like a chat box and video box that shows a quick video of the spell you currently have selected.

'Spell Selection Progress' by HarkonXThe progress so far on the spell selection screen, will have a list of spells that you have bought the stats about the players on your team and a video of the spells that u wish to choose.

Nothing to say about anything else and I don't feel like working just yet (still chilling a bit- just got home) + no sleeps so needa rest a bit.
So instead of boring you lots with uncool stuff, I've compiled the video stuff from Portal 2 adverting, mostly found on the valve youtube page and various other youtubey sources. Since I'm really hyped about it now (although broke so won't be able to get it for a while). Hopefully theres no cap on youtube embeds. if there is and its an issue with Valve, happy to take them down as required :)
But yeah, looks amazing, the new physics seems really good and can really see the benefit the "TAG: The Power Of Paint" people had on the game. The fluid dynamics and overall feel of Portal 2 really screams AAA as well, rather then just innovative mod, so very happy about that (I loved Portal, but graphically it lacked a bit) :D
